Brent Anderson was born and raised on the outskirts of the Allegheny Mountains in Erie Pennsylvania. There he gained an early appreciation for nature, spending his youth exploring the Lake Erie shoreline and venturing up creeks and streams into the woods, meadows and marshes outside his backyard. With an inherent obsession to discover nature’s hidden secrets and a passion for photography Brent made the challenging decision in 2003 to leave his hometown and family for Florida to pursue a master’s degree in biology. Since completing his master’s in 2005 Brent has been employed as an Environmental Scientist and photographer for the Kissimmee River Restoration Project. Working for the largest river restoration project of its kind in the world is a job that he has dreamed of his entire life.
Brent’s work takes him to some of the most remote and pristine places in Florida that most would think have been lost forever. For Brent, Florida is an endless landscape of lakes, rivers and swamps that are like no other place on earth. He uses his photography as a window for others to gaze into Florida’s unique and natural beauty. Brent works to instill public awareness and initiate conservation efforts by way of his photography to preserve what is left of Florida’s uniquely interconnected ecosystems.
Brent currently uses a digital Canon 5D mark II camera to capture his limited edition fine art photographs. Using traditional archival chemical processing techniques rather than inkjet printers, he produces photographs that are highly archival and will outlast any inkjet print. A high gloss metallic paper brings the artwork to life when exposed to sunlight or overhead interior lights. The artwork will take on different moods depending on the angle and intensity of light that reaches it throughout the day. Each collectable fine art print is a signed and numbered edition.
